Così fan tutte is one of the greatest creations of Mozarts musical and theatrical genius , full of humor and parody

Six young singers from different nationalities , prepared by Marie KUIJKEN in the musical and scenic work, and accompanied on pianoforte by Sebastien Mitra, will restore this opera for you in its original vivacity , in colourful 18th style costumes by Marijke Sileghem .
... a timeles story about love, loyality and treachery, a parody which questions us about fundamental aspects of the human nature !
(this theatre was erected in te 19th century by order of the brother of Napoleon...)
We thank from the bottom of our heart the new Municipal Aministration of Canino for having given the autorization to use the theatre!
During the interval of the opera, the Commune of Canino will offer a refreshment with local products to the audience , on the little square next to the theatre!

The program "Stranded Heroines" is all about heroines in total despair , with selected arias from various operas by Mozart and Haydn, in this concert performed with 18th century gestures and declamation, and accompanied with pianoforte and violin.
The 3 movements of Mozarts Violin sonate KV 380 and his Variations on "Hélas, j'ai perdu mon Amant" separe the arias from each other ...

La Petite Bande celebrates its 50 th anniversary this year, and has choses to do this with a Mozart opera in 18h century style !
According to its philosophy, LPB will perform Così fan tutte in a historical but very lively style - With costumes in 18th century style by Marijke Sileghem, and staging by Marie Kuijken, using all the conventions of 18th century opera performance . However, no theatrical settings (décor) will be used - the main focus will be on the action, in relation to the the music.
Sigiswald Kuijken reduced the original Mozart score to a string-quintet + 2 horns . This kind of arrangment was not uncommon in Mozarts time...
